Meet Erin
I’m Erin Fischer, a Registered Psychologist in Sherwood Park, AB. I graduated from the University of Alberta with my Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology in 2011. Since then, I’ve worked as a psychologist in public and private industry, rehabilitation, and intensive, outpatient mental health. After years of treating general mental health issues, I began to specialize in treating operational stress in first responders while working in a traumatic psychological injury program. I started my own practice, Fischer Psychological, in 2022 to continue growing my career in mental health, still focusing on first responders while also serving the civilian populations I’ve become familiar with earlier in my career. My love for people and the opportunity to experience authentic connection, so unique to the therapy room, has continued to drive my interest in the mental health. I consider it a true honour to be part of your journey.
The Space
Fischer Psychological is located in north Sherwood Park. I lease a unit in the Intricate Harvest building, with a variety of other independent business owners, including other mental health professionals in neighbouring units. The building is modern, has ample free parking, and is wheelchair accessible. There is a comfortable waiting area and complimentary teas and coffees available. My Approach
My approach to therapy is integrative, and I draw on a variety of evidence-based modalities to best meet your individual needs. At their core, all services are infused with warmth, empathy and genuineness. Establishing a strong relationship based on trust is always my first step. I then often focus on improving coping skills and growing a sense of stability in the world. I may dive deeper into the origins of your difficulties, and possibly the need to process past hurts to support your current function, but only if consistent with your goals, capacities and the necessity for recovery.
Billing & Insurance
Services are $220.00/hr and a sliding-scale may apply if you are eligible. Fischer Psychological offers direct billing to the following insurers and third party payors. Talk to me about adding yours if not on my list.
