1. About My Services

I’m Erin Fischer, a licensed psychologist in Sherwood Park, Alberta, offering trauma therapy, including EMDR and Somatic Experiencing, primarily to first responders and other clients. Services are provided in-person at my office or, if agreed, via telehealth, subject to Alberta regulations and my professional discretion.

2. Website Use
  • Purpose: This site provides information about my practice and lets you contact me. It’s not a substitute for professional advice or therapy.
  • Restrictions: You may not copy, modify, or distribute site content without my permission. Misuse (e.g., hacking, spamming) is prohibited.
  • Availability: I aim to keep the site live but can’t guarantee it’ll always be up—technical glitches happen.
3. Therapy Services
  • Eligibility: Clients must be 19+ (Alberta’s age of majority) or have guardian consent if younger. I reserve the right to decline service if we’re not a fit.
  • Appointments: Bookings are confirmed via email or phone. Cancellations need 24-hour notice, or a fee may apply (details at consultation).
  • Confidentiality: Your privacy is paramount—see my Privacy Policy for details. Exceptions apply for legal obligations (e.g., safety risks).
4. Fees and Payment
  • Cost: Fees are set at consultation and payable per session unless insured. I accept cash, credit, or e-transfer—insurance clients submit claims directly.
  • No Refunds: Payments for completed sessions are final, though we’ll discuss concerns if they arise.
5. Your Responsibilities
  • Accuracy: Provide truthful info when contacting me or in therapy—I rely on it to help you effectively.
  • Engagement: Therapy works best when you participate fully. I’ll match your effort, not exceed it.
  • Respect: Treat me and my practice with courtesy—no abusive behaviour tolerated.
6. Liability
  • Limits: I strive to provide quality care, but outcomes aren’t guaranteed—therapy depends on many factors. I’m not liable for indirect damages (e.g., lost time) from using this site or my services, beyond Alberta law requirements.
  • Risk: You use this site at your own risk—links or tech issues aren’t my responsibility.
7. Termination

I can end services or site access if you breach these Terms, miss payments, or if our therapeutic fit falters. You can stop anytime—just let me know.

8. Governing Law

These Terms fall under Alberta law. Disputes go through Edmonton courts, keeping it local and fair.
